Research Methodology
The Tiger Research team wrote this report based on interviews with various industry experts and leaders during their stay in Thailand from April 21 to 28, 2024, coinciding with 'SEABW 2024,' the largest Web3 event in Southeast Asia. The primary goal was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the unique and complex structure of the Thai Web3 market from a broad perspective. Although the opinions gathered through the interviews occasionally varied among local experts, this diversity of views reflects the market's richness and has enhanced the overall understanding of Thailand's Web3 landscape.
Thailand is the 'Hidden Tiger of Asia' with a balanced Web3 ecosystem. In particular, 1) a well-organized regulatory framework for each digital asset class, 2) a robust Web3 ecosystem centered on large financial companies, and 3) active market participation by retailers make Thailand stand out among Asian countries.
However, not much is actually known about the Thai Web3 market. In this report, we'll take a look at the Thai market, from its historical background to the different sectors of the Web3 market, to reveal the hidden tiger.
